We want to support and acknowledge dads. Each of you is making a difference whether you are a stay at home dad or a working dad. When you become a father, it is often easy to forget the side of you that is also a man who may have had a career, hobbies and education before you
became a parent. Below are great tips, information and links for dads in the workplace. Email us to nominate a Mom in the Spotlight or a MVP Dad.

Scott is seen here with his dad and son.
The true character of a man is not defined by how you act when times are good; but, how you react and treat others in times of crisis.
My dad and grandpa are my heroes. I'm a momma's boy and got my soft side from her.
To be respectful and polite. I think it is a lost art of saying, "please and thank you," opening the door for someone and just having good manners in general. (I know I can only choose 1; but, I really want to teach my kids honesty and a hard work ethic, as well.)
I used to measure it by what you have or earned. Now, as a parent, the important things in life have changed. Now, I just want a Saturday afternoon at the pool, watching my kids swim, laugh and play. I can't believe how much satisfaction you can get from that.
Having 3 beautiful, healthy, happy children and grandparents that adore them.
Being present for the birth of my children.
How am I going to pay for all of this? :) I think finances are the toughest challenge right now. I can forsee time being another future challenge...
To have enough money that I didn't have to work all day and could play more with my kids. I would love to have a house on the ocean where we could play in the sand and surf.
I workout religiously, 6 days/week, 2 hours day. 1 hour of cardio, 1 hour of weights. I swim, run, bike, hike and climbed 2 mountains.
My retina detached 2 years ago. Just bad luck and bad genetics. I'm also colorblind.
Muncie/Yorktown
2 sisters, Jessie - middle child, has 3 kids and been married a year longer than me (12 years). Megan - youngest, has 1 child and 1 on the way. Married about 7 years.
Making ice cream cones at the Dairy Queen in Yorktown for $2.35/hour.
To own my own business someday.
Well, mine of course. But, Meridian is one of my favorites. Ale Emporium, too.
Starbucks - I'm high maintenance: Triple Venti, non-fat, no foam, latte with 1 pump of cinnamon dolce.
Coldplay for sure! I have to pick just one? I'll go with "Yellow."
Again, just one? I love movies. I really liked "Crash."
SportsCenter, House, Grey's Anatomy
Anywhere with a beach, a pool and sun.
Tony Dungy's book (actually on tape) and read a few James Patterson books on vacation. I read to escape, not to learn.
Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!
Right now, if I don't have a pacifier in one hand and a "bankey" in the other, I could be in serious trouble.
Sleeping in. Coffee, bagels, Blues Clues and playing in the morning. Ride our bikes to the pool. An afternoon of sun and fun. Grilling out dinner. Bathtime, storytime and bed.
I love what I do, so I don't need much inspiration. I used to feel like I needed to be successful to provide for my 500 employees. Now, I feel like I need to do this for my 4 other family members.
I have a passion for competition and motivating others to get the best out of them. I feel like I can give great inspiration and can motivate many different personalities.
The hours. I make time for my family. My dad did it and it was important to me. He would be at home when I got off the bus and would play with my friends and me. I always considered (and still do) a best friend. I want that same relationship with my kids. Work for me, though, is never done. I could work 24/7. I have to make myself quit.

Each month we feature a dad making a difference in our community. We want to acknowledge working dads and stay at home dads. Suggest a dad by clicking here.
